'Gosau Apartment Shelbourne' is located within the 4-star Vitalhotel, in the middle of the Gosau valley, at 780m, surrounded by the mountains of the Dachstein-West ski resort. In Winter it attracts more than its fair share of snow, whilst in other seasons, it is ideally placed for exploring the wonderful delights of the Salzkammergut region, and for  walking on some of the 400 kms of marked trails nearby. 

High up on the 3rd floor, our south-west facing apartment enjoys the sun to the end of the day, and boasts extensive views up the spectacular Gosau valley to the impressive Gosaukamm ridge nearby, and over grazing meadows to the ski slopes.

Being superbly located on the south side of the prestigious Vitalhotel, freshly refurbished last year, our apartment is perfectly placed for enjoying the wonderful mix of sports and leisure facilities, and to try out some spa treatments, for a truly fabulous time, winter and summer.

It consists of a large room, where the living area has two sofas for extra comfort, and a dining table, with the sleeping area at the rear. There is a separate kitchen and bathroom, as well as the balcony for extra space - particularly lovely for dining on in the sunshine. And, of course, there is also the hotel downstairs to spill out into, too!

Our apartment's own kitchen is well equipped for preparing breakfast, snacks and picnics, as well as evening meals whenever dining-in is prefered, but, with a wide choice of local restaurants - in the village, on the mountain tops, beside Gosausee and at other lakes, dining out is a lovely and varied experience! 

Gosau's central position in the beautiful lakes region in the Austrian alps offers a wide range of activities: Trail walking and cycle rides, boat trips, lake swimming, a cog-railway mountain ride, fishing, golf and shopping! For thrills, there's white water rafting, paragliding and rock-climbing! Close by is Hallstatt, pretty spa towns and lakeside villages. Salzburg is only 45 minutes drive away to the airport and 'The Sound of Music' tour.

Our apartment is one of several dozen private apartments within the Vitalhotel complex. Owners visit regularly to enjoy its wide range of amenities, all of which are available to our guests.

At the end of an active day in the mountains around Gosau or further afield, it is a treat to return 'home' to relax with a swim and sauna session before taking refreshments in the cocktail bar, or a chilled wine at our balcony table, in the summer as the sun goes down. The charming sounds of the distant church bells and tinkling cow-bells create a magical atmosphere, and our balcony is very definitely a relaxing and harmonious place to be!

The Gosausee lake and the view of the massive Dachstein and its glacier reflected in it, attract many international tourists, as well as walkers and cyclists.

A 'must-do' for every visitor is to walk around the Gosausee, and to climb up to the mountain hut  terrace (cable car and trail options) to experience that 'on top of the world' feeling and that fabulous view.

Visitors to our 'Gosau Apartment' will find themselves perfectly placed for discovering the local lakes and their beautiful surroundings, and for hiking and/or mountain biking along the well kept trails that start at our front door - and in winter, for great skiing, snow-boarding and langlauf (40 kms of cross-country skiing).
